The Voices That Call Me
Kaoru was an aspiring mangaka, with big dreams and (what he thought was, and still does think,) oodles of talent. Now he's just another hikikomori (recluse) who hasn't left his room in 5 years…Until one hot summer night, when he hears, from some distant place, voices which call him. Voices that only he can hear. Voices that are calling for help. Following the voices, Kaoru opens the windows, and steps out into the night.

Set in the political unrest of 1960s Japan, a group of young revolutionaries seek to overthrow the world order by any means necessary. But the path they walk is not of glory, but infamy; the events that unfold will shock the nation of Japan to its very core! Weaving together both detailed research and dramatic elements, Yamamoto Naoki delivers a powerful new take on the most troubling and infamous episode of the history of Japan's radical left-wing student movement. In 2010 won Excellence Prize in manga from Japan Media Arts Festival.
A high-school boy, nicknamed Fuu-chan, stays with his relatives in the countryside to study for his college entrance exams, and to get away from the sweltering Tokyo heat. There, he wakes up to an unexpected encounter with Kii-chan, an early-bloomer preteen who initiates a pure, erotic story that must be kept secret from parents. Yamamoto Naoki, the mangaka behind the adult classic "Blue," returns with his first new series since the end of his award-winning historical manga "Red." Note: This title was initially labeled "hentai" by the scanlator because it is heavy on explicit depictions of sexual acts and it is relatively light on story. The label has since been removed by moderators. However, the book has been released without the 18-plus label, and the Tokyo metropolitan government responded on Sept. 10 by declaring the title an "unhealthy publication" that "obstructs the healthy development of youth." This has caused Amazon Japan to de-platform the book. This echoes what happened to "Blue" in the past: the book was initially published as an all-ages manga, then it was later discontinued and resold as an adult publication after the government listed "Blue" as harmful. Note: This title placed 13th in the "Kono Manga ga Sugoi!" 2021 ranking for male readers. Anime News Network
